Model Korin Reid is a student at the University of Delaware. Korin describes her style as “wash and wear” admittedly running to class with damp hair most days. “I’m an athlete and I baby-sit” says Korin,” most of the time my hair is in a ponytail and I don’t spend much time styling it. It’s too thick and I don’t have the time”

Kathy wanted to be sure Korin’s hair fit her lifestyle. She focused on simple changes that would be easy for Korin to upkeep and showed Korin a few tricks that she could do at home to recreate the looks from the salon. Kathy began with face-framing highlights and followed with a toning gloss all over to bring Korin’s hair back to life. Taking the weight out of Korin’s incredibly thick hair was a priority but she did not want to loose her long length. Kathy cut long face-framing layers on an angle to emphasize Korin’s bone structure in a way that Korin could recreate the look at home. Finally, Kathy choose to show Korin a simple upstyle that Korin could do at home before going out for an event like a wedding or Sunday brunch. “I love it!” says Korin, “It’s a change that works. Kathy really listened to what I wanted and I Love it!
